Privacy Policy for 6E Club

Checked · 6E Club help guide

Privacy policy, in plain words: this page lists everything 6E Club stores when you watch, upload or comment, why each item exists, how long it is kept, who can see it and how to export or delete it. There is no advertising, no sale of data and no third-party analytics script on the site. If something below is unclear, ask at [email protected] and we will answer in the same plain words.

What We Store

Account

When you register we keep your email address, your username (which is also your channel handle), your password as a salted hash that cannot be turned back into the password, your birth year, and the country you choose. The birth year decides whether mature settings can be unlocked; it is never shown to anyone. The email is used for the verification code, password resets and the notifications you switch on, nothing else.

Activity

Signed in, the platform records your watch history with the position you reached, your likes, favorites, playlists, follows and comments, and the settings you choose such as autoplay or default quality. History can be paused or cleared in your Library at any time. Likes, favorites and history are private; comments and public playlists appear under your username.

Uploads

A video you upload is stored as the original file plus the 360p, 720p and 1080p versions made from it, thumbnails, subtitle files, and the details you type: title, description, hashtags, category, language, visibility and labels. Private and unlisted videos are served only through unguessable links.

Technical

Your IP address is used for rate limits and abuse protection on sign-in, upload, comment and report requests. Each session records the device or browser string so you can recognise it. Views are counted once per session per video and stored only as daily totals per video, not as a per-person log.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade any of the data above.
  • We do not run advertising or advertising trackers at launch, so there is no ad profile of you.
  • We do not load third-party analytics; view counts come from our own daily totals.
  • We do not read your private videos or your history except to resolve a report, a copyright claim or a support request you sent.
  • We do not ask for a phone number, a government ID or a payment method, because nothing on the site needs one.

Cookies

The site sets two cookies, both of them needed for signing in. There are no marketing or tracking cookies, and signed-out visitors receive none at all. The Android app uses a token stored on the device instead of the session cookie.

Every cookie the site sets
CookieWhat it doesLifetime
sixe_sidKeeps you signed in. HttpOnly and same-site, so scripts and other sites cannot read it30 days, or until you sign out
sixe_authA simple 1 or 0 hint so a page can show your avatar instead of “Log in” before it has fully loaded30 days, cleared on sign-out

How Long We Keep Things

Sessions expire after 30 days of being unused, and changing your password ends every other session at once. Account data stays for as long as the account exists. When you delete your account, it is closed immediately: videos stop being served, comments are removed, and the files and records are purged from storage in the following cleanup run. Reports you made and copyright claims that name your videos are kept for 12 months after they are resolved, because the law may require us to show how a decision was reached.

Your Rights

You can read and change almost everything yourself: profile and channel details in the studio, email and password in Settings, history and lists in your Library, and each video’s visibility in the edit drawer. To receive a copy of the data we hold about you, email [email protected] from the address on the account and we will send an export. To delete the account, open Settings, choose Delete account and confirm with your password; it takes effect immediately with no waiting period. Questions and complaints about data go to the 6E Club grievance team through the contact page.

Children

Accounts are for people aged 13 and over, and the register form refuses a birth year that is younger. We do not knowingly keep data about anyone under 13; if you believe a child has made an account, tell us at [email protected] and it will be removed. Accounts aged 13 to 17 keep the sensitive-content filter locked on, and videos marked made for kids have no comments. The online safety guide has a checklist for parents.

Where Your Data Lives

Videos, thumbnails and account records are stored on Cloudflare’s network. Files are kept with a primary region in Asia-Pacific and are cached at edge locations worldwide so that playback is fast wherever the viewer is. The cache holds only public media and copies that expire on their own; private and unlisted files are served only with a signed link. All traffic uses HTTPS, and passwords are hashed with a slow algorithm before they are stored.

Changes and Contact

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and a change that affects what we store or how long we keep it is announced on the site before it takes effect. Write to [email protected] for anything about your data; the about page explains who runs the platform, and the terms and conditions set out the rest of the agreement.
